Sadly I'm going to be returning this rug. I'll list my pros and cons below.
Pros: I bought this rug in an 8x10 in Ivory and the color is beautiful! It contrasted nicely with my dark wood floors. As another reviewer stated the fibers on this rug are like a flat ribbon type of material, which is lovely. I did like that about it. It's also very soft to the touch - not scratchy at all.
Cons: In the description it says this rug is high pile, but it's really not, in my opinion. I am returning it because it's very thin and not at all comfortable. The backing on it is very rigid and it won't lay flat. I imagine over time it would probably flatten out. I was hoping for a nice thick comfy rug that we could lay on by the fire or while we watch TV. If you're looking for a thick comfortable rug it may not be your best choice. If you're looking for something just for looks it may work for you.

I'm pleasantly surprised! This is actually nicer than I thought it was going to be. It's soft. T...I'm pleasantly surprised! This is actually nicer than I thought it was going to be. It's soft. There are different fibers in the rug like a rug yarn and then a ribbon- because of this feature the ribbon catches the light and almost gives it a little shimmer. However, I wouldn't classify this as a shag because it's maybe about a 1/2 inch deep and that might be generous. I had it shipped so it was rolled very tight so I have it opened up and have weights in the corner. Overall I think this was a great carpet for the price of $92!!! When I vacuum

We've only had a couple of days and it's for a guest room that won't get used very often so cannot comment about longevity. But I love the color and feel of the carpet. It says shag but is not what I think of when I hear shag. The strands are almost like tiny ribbons. It is very silky feeling and we're really happy with the rug and the price!!

I would give this rug 1/2 star if it was an option. Not sure if I was sent the wrong rug but thi...I would give this rug 1/2 star if it was an option. Not sure if I was sent the wrong rug but this rug was not shag. It was more like something you would put down in your garage. I returned the rug.

It's not nearly the depth pile that I though it...It's not nearly the depth pile that I though it would be and it's a different material than any shag rug I'd ever had. I wouldn't even classify it as a "shag" rug. It's almost the same material and height as astroturf.
I definitely wouldn't recommend it unless you are using it in a basement.
