Pergo flooring is tough but brittle. Anyone who has installed this knows this for a fact. Looks great overall. However. The latest version of Pergo XP is not the same as prior versions in that the locking parts of the plank have changed--and in my opinion for the worse. Moreover, the current version of XP WILL NOT match up with older versions. So if you have leftover product or are trying to add on to prior work, forget it. I found that the newer version of P-XP is more difficult to work with and more time consuming. And what really drove me nuts was that the locking tabs are made of some kind of fibrous material and each and every plank had a corner that had "swelled" somehow thus making it impossible to lock together. So the only thing I could do was to cut off that small bit with a utility knife. In the final analysis, next time I want to put a new floor down I'll have to look in another direction.
