This floor will make your home beautiful!
We chose this flooring because we wanted a high quality laminate and this fits the bill. It looks like wood and has a nice grain texture. It has a nice sheen to it that is part of the product - no waxing needed. The color is rich looking and dark enough that we can see dust and hair (we have a long haired white dog) and vacuum it right up. We vacuum frequently and for deeper cleaning we use an Armstrong wood and laminate floor cleaner that we put in a bottle attached to a spray mop (Rubbermaid Reveal found at Walmart). We had the flooring professionally installed and the Home Depot installers did a great job. Our flooring replaced all the carpet in our home and we extended it into the kitchen where it has proven to withstand spills. Our house looks so much better with continuous flooring throughout. The only con we have found is that it is slippery for our dog but after 7 months of having this floor he has adapted pretty well. If you are considering wood floors in your home, give this one a good look.

Solid Buy
We installed our new floor to cover the entire downstairs (800 sf) with minimal transitions. Had a contractor do it because we didn't have enough time. He had it done in 2 days. It looks beautiful and offers a warm, natural and rustic feel to the home. Comfortable to walk on with bare feet. Low noise with the 10mm thickness. With a houseful of kids and two larger dogs its proven very durable although I recommend getting dogs nails trimmed just in case although there is yet any scratches. (One is a hyper 5 mo. old rescue puppy!) Cleans up nicely with just hot water mop. I am giving this 4 stars because it does warp if water (or puppy puddle) gets into a seam. I didn't realize pup made a puddle until next day and the damage was done. Luckily its not in an obvious spot. Will have to live with it because it's a big job to replace a little area. I wish they would come up with some sort of easy invisible sealant to put into all of the seams to protect against mishaps.

DON't WASTE YOUR MONEY!!
Terrible product! You may as well put cardboard down! After less than 1 year our Pergo started peaking and pulling apart at the end of the planks. Any spill if not cleaned up immediately (10 minutes is too long) will result in curled edges. We are afraid to even clean the floor with any amount of moisture. A light spray of Bruce cleaner is all we dare use, and living in the country with dogs means our floor is never really clean. We contacted Home Depot who installed the product, and they contacted Pergo. Pergo sent out an independent inspector who said it was an install issue. They said there was not enough room for expansion. The installer came out and stated that if it's an expansion issue, why is it pulling apart?! He felt it was definitely a product issue. Home Depot went with the independent inspector and they are replacing some random 30 boards. In the meantime more planks are pulling apart. We see this as an ongoing problem. Save yourself the headache and don't buy Pergo XP!!!!

Love it
I like everything about it. I had installed another brand in a different room and there are several features about the Pergo floors I like more. The tongue and groove snap together easily without much force. The attached padding saves a little time on installation and you don't have to worry about your sheets of padding moving while you install. They are very quiet when you walk on them, no creeking or ticking sounds that are common in laminate floors. People who said they have warping issues, I wonder if they did not leave the instructed 3/8 inch of space around the edges to allow for expansion. I have a large sloppery dog and I was worried the water would warp the floor. It's been 7 months and haven't had a problem yet. I was also afraid the rough looking finish would be too rustic, but once installed it all blends together nicely and looks beautiful. Now I am glad we picked a design with a rougher texture because I think dust and dog fur would be really visible on a smooth shiny floor. We installed the floors in the living room and dining room and will be installing the same floors in the den and kitchen.

Great Value and Good Likeness to wood
I was fixated on engineered or solid wood but I was frustrated trying to get it they way I wanted at an installed price I wanted when I saw this product. I have two kids and a 120 lb. dog so durability was a concern. I thought this stuff would last and it looked and felt so much like some of the engineered hickory I had been looking at. Plus, with its design I felt comfortable I could install it myself. We did a 300 sq. ft. Master and my wife liked it so much we did the guest room too. It was easy to install as I have a table saw and I bought a new carbide 60 tooth blade for the project which I could tell was wearing down doing the second room. That's how tough the coating is on these. One other lesson learned was to buy the $5-10 door jam saw if you are converting from carpet. I used a coping saw in the first wood with OK results but in the second room I used the jam saw and it went great. Also, we did use the upper level moisture barrier and the extra Styrofoam beading works fine the the pre-installed padding.

pergo XP - bowed boards out of the box
bought 40 boxes of this stuff in Feb 2105; the new boards are bowed end-to-end in the box; no way it will lay flat on floor;
returned the first 20 boxes for refund;
from second set of 20 boxes I assembled a trial section according to instructions with correct end overlapping - end result is that the end boards (long-way) next to the wall have almost 3/16 inch rise above the floor level - there is no way you could walk on this stuff without having it flex up-&-down
hard to install cuz you are trying to fit together 2 or more curved pieces- the bow is just accentuated as you add more boards end-to-end, and you also get some "ridging" at the end edge joints cuz the 2 boards are not flat end-to-end
this second batch of bowed-in-box planks is also going back for refund
I previously installed about 1200 sq ft of Armstrong, and there was nary a bowed board in the lot - the only reason i switched to this Pergo is that the Armstrong design is no longer available, and the Pergo design was "close enuf"

What a great product
This is our second Pergo floor and I can't say enough about the product. Our original floor was the white washed wood and was 15 years old. It still looked pretty good but we had to replace the den carpeting so we decided to go with one complete look for both connecting rooms. We laid the new Highland Hickory plank laminate in the kitchen and through to the den. It looks just like real wood; the low lustre shine, texture and individual planks are just beautiful. We did remove all the old flooring and baseboards, laid the new floor and then replaced the baseboards to avoid using quarter round. Each plank has a foam liner attached to avoid any additional underlayment. 46 boxes of floor took three days and that included all the prep work, clean up and baseboard painting. I would highly recommend this floor to anyone that wants a wood look, but doesn't want wood in the kitchen or pay the price of a wood floor. And here's the best part, it's made in the USA!!!!

Great Looking Floor Once Finished
I just spent 3 days installing this flooring into my home. installation was straight forward enough and the click/locking feature on the ends worked pretty well. I've read some comments about this not working well. I would highly recommend using a pulling tool and a piece of scrap flooring to make sure everything is snug into place.
I used the scrap piece of flooring to help push everything together so i didn't damage the edges with a rubber mallet. just stick the scrap piece in the mating track and hit it with the mallet to help seat it down. fast and easy.
1 thing to watch out for is water damaged boxes from the store. we ended up returning 18 boxes for water damage. the main issue is that the short ends had warped so the planks would not sit flat. Home Depot was great in helping us swap out boxes. make sure to inspect everything when you pick it up.
we also removed the base boards in our house and installed new trim.
