What’s old is new again in Safavieh’s Vintage Collection of rugs inspired by the trend to recycling old carpets and over-dyeing them in brilliant colors to camouflage stains and flaws. Each rug is power loomed in Belgium of 100% organic viscose yarn in a low cut pile to recreate the threadbare appearance of worn vintage carpets. Yarns are deliberately dyed unevenly to add old-world character to the collection’s classic Persian and Turkish designs.

Very nice looking rug. Looks like photo with faded...Very nice looking rug. Looks like photo with faded areas which gives it the vintage look. I really like this look, but my husband, not so much. However, he doesn't really care so I'm keeping it. Rug has a nap like velvet fabric. Looks lighter in one direction and darker in the other direction so place rug with the shade you favor facing the direction you use the most. This is a soft rug like other posters have mentioned. Very short, tight nap. Feels like quality. If you want a thicker, higher rug, keep looking.

Nice RugThis is a very nice rug. The pattern (which is reminiscent of a traditional persian rug) is faded in spots which gives it an antique look (without the antique smell or dirt of actual antique rugs!). It's extremely soft, feels great underfoot. It's a very low pile, you might want to put a rug pad under it if you want a little cushion under your feet. The colors are nice--all neutrals so it can work in a lot of spaces but still has an interesting look.

Color variation is more subtle than in the pictureI absolutely love this rug. I have since bought another of the Safavieh vintage rugs that all seem to coordinate really well although note that they do have different quality and thickness as reflected by the price range. This one is thin but seems to have good quality. I could almost pretend that it's an antique rug that has had the edges bound. I used this one in a room with some authentic antique rugs and this does a good job of blending into the background, I needed a less expensive rug to use by the front door where it will get a lot of traffic.

Love itReally like the fact that it is thin and pliable,so one person can manipulate it's position. Wish the color was warmer and more beige, it looks too ivory/ shiny to give it 5 stars. But over all, it is a wonderful decorator choice to look antique and worn. The other ones we tried screamed new and cheap, and so thick as to be a trip hazard. HD made it easy to return the one we bought online and decided against.
