Arrived shrunk-wrapped in heavy plastic bagging with added fabric padding wraps on each end for protection....much appreciated, I love for new stuff to look new. Carpet backing is hard, but not as abrasive as some. Immediately apparent it would take some time for it to flatten out, they rolled it with the back-side out. It would seem that since they packaged it so well, they could have rolled it rug-side out, without damage...it would have lain better, tho' then, the wrapping tape might have left indentations...ah, well. Decided to re-roll it the opposite way & let it sit for a while, try to flatten it. That worked a little, but it's still gonna take a while to totally flatten out. Also, the rug feels like it has a residue of sorts on it, so it needs to be vacuumed right away, or after a couple days of airing out.
The rug is very soft & cushy feeling, with a finely textured, deep nap...nice on your bare feet. But that same softness contributes to every little scuff & footprint showing (see pics), so expect a trade-off. At $92, it's a pretty good price for a patterned rug this interesting...it'll take some time & some use for me to decide if it's actually worth it. I'll try to update in the near future.
