First and foremost, this rug, although at only half an inch thick, produces a superb cushioned bare foot walk over. Its Jute backing, a (plant fiber which is also known as hessian) gives a good solid feel to this well-made rug.
The serged edge produces a good robust sewn yarn wrap and I could not find any fault in its manufacture.
After unrolling the rug, I left it lying flat overnight and in the morning all the edges were flat and there were no sign at all of it curling, especially at the corners where some other manufactured carpets/rugs are known to occur.
Overall this is a beautiful rug that has a good soft feel to it. So can I recommend this? Absolutely. Is it worth the asking price? Yes, and again, absolutely.

It arrived rolled up tight in a single plastic bag with a total shipping weight of 33 pounds. If you are interested in more details please read on. What we liked most about this rug;
1. What we like most is the way it looks. It has a beautiful, realistic "Zebra" design. The design stripes in dark browns and blacks with contrasting stripes in a creamy buff color flecked with grays give it a realistic look. It also has a slight "hand carved" sculptured look that gives it some texture (see photos).
2. We like the soft, slightly plush feel of this rug. This power loomed rug is made in Turkey of 100% heat set polypropylene for softness and good wear. Heat set polypropylene is a synthetic fiber that is known for being soft, resistant to wear and tear and repels stains. This makes it easy to vacuum because hair and lint don’t easily adhere to the fibers. The edges have a nice machine finish with no loose yarn. It has a jute backing.
3. It arrived tightly rolled and it required only one back roll to get it to lay flat with the floor. The rug shows slight memory but it laid flat the first day with some slight waves in the center (see photos). It has nicely finished edges and does not slip on our hard wood floors.

I unrolled it and it almost immediately laid flat which is nice because sometimes it can take awhile for the edges of a new rug to unfurl. I was so pleased with the look of the pile and the feel. Sometimes I find non-wool rugs to have a shiny and unappealing look and feel. But this rug is soft and plush underfoot. It really has a more quality feel than I expected. It's plush but not super thick so easy to vacuum. We are using it in our finished basement and the kids love the animal print. There is some nice shading and detail to the print. Overall a great rug.

Once out, all I had to do was unroll it, and within about 24 hours it was completely flat. The overall appliance is just gorgeous. Pictures don't really do it justice. It looks just like a zebra. To touch, there's a little plush feel to it, but not so much that I'd want to sleep on it. The edges are finished securely, and there were no loose strings.
The back is made of jute, and will move around, and definitely needs a rug pad. Depending on the level of foot traffic, I went with more of just an anti-skid backing, but you absolutely need something.
Overall, a very sturdy, attractive rug!
