Looks authentic
Tricky to use, but if done properly turns out really great! They’re definitely water resistant and look like real subway tiles when finished. Follow the instructions and you have to work quickly once you take off the backing. Plan the layout in detail ahead of time :). Much more cost effective then real tiles - especially for small jobs.

I have wanted to install a back splash in our kitchen for a very long time now but I hate tiling and grouting. I did a ton of research on Smart Tiles and knew it would be the best product for me. No mess, quick install, don't have to seal any grout, and overall a simple process. I watched a lot of install videos and purchased a cutting mat, a good box cutter, and a straight edge. The most tedious part is overlapping the grout lines, you do have to be a perfectionist and patient for this part or the tiles will look off. I knew I would be caulking around all the edges so I didn't focus on making the edge tiles straight because if they were uneven at the bottom they would be covered by caulk but you have to keep them as level as possible. Overall the project took about a day and I do get a lot of compliments on it. Would use this product again.

dificult to install and somewhat flimsy but looks good so far
Nobody else will probably use our application. I was sick of toothpaste spatters on my bathroom mirror - huge right over long counter with 2 sinks so I used this for a border along the bottom of the mirror.
In retrospect, I would have chosen a style tile that didn't interlock the way the mosaic does although I do like that look. It wasn't that easy to line up the interlocking parts - partly because the counter I was installing over wasn't exactly even. But then although we are long time homeowners, we are not particularly handy.
The "grout" between tiles is flimsy paper and we ruined one piece trying to get a wrinkle out of the grout - the shiny back showed through.
I've had tiles up for about a month and they look nice. Our goofs are probably only noticed by me - nobody else will look that close.
Kind of pricey for what they are but If they last, it'll be worth it.

Does not work well over ceramic tile
I bought this product to cover my existing ceramic tile backsplash. The product advertises that it works well over many types of surfaces, including tiled ones. I was disappointed that they don't offer any samples of the Smart Tile in any Home Depot and of the 3 Home Depots in my area, no one had even heard of the product or could give me any feedback. I went off some online reviews and decided to give it try. It has the look that I wanted, but when applied over my existing tile I could see the lines of the tile, as no tile job is ever perfectly flush and level. The Mosaik tile shows every imperfection of the surface it is trying to cover. I think this product would be great over a smooth wall, but not over ceramic tile. Overall, I think the product is a clever solution, but I couldn't live with the imperfections and had to return it. A good idea for a smooth surface, but don't try it on a large tiled space.

Good but not great
I have used smart tile before and I really like them. Very easy to install and keep clean. Lots of compliments on them. My only disappointment was I wish the tile it's self was a bit larger like a real subway tile. Since the tile size is smaller it did not give me the look I wanted but the project still looks good. I used them on a bathroom wall so a larger tile would have looked better. I have ordered another smart tile for my kitchen backsplash and love them. The are the size that makes them look like real tile. Smart buy either way if you are looking for something stylish that doesn't cost a fortune and isn't messy or difficult to install.

This is a great idea but honestly they look cheap installed and they are pretty pricey. You would think installation would be a cinch... not so much. The directions tell you not to touch the adhesive. Good luck with that task. I returned these and will be choosing another product.
