Buyer beware. The real flooring is not even close in durability as thesamples in the store. I tried to damage and chip these store samples and couldn't, but our flooring is chipping like crazy! We bought over 1000 sq ft this JavaScraped Oak floor almost a year ago and had it professionally installed through Home Depot. We noticed damage to the top floor layer within a couple of months of use. We are a middle aged couple without any children living in the home and treating this floor with the utmost care having added felt pads to all pieces of furniture and not allowing dirt shoes on this floor. We can't believe the poor quality of the top layer. Home Depot Regional flooring manager acknowledged our complaint, but the manufacturer of the Pergo flooring Mohawk Industries in Garner, NC refused our warranty claim and will only consider it if we hire a independent flooring inspector which we don't a have available within 100 miles from our home. After almost a year we have numerous chips like this throughout our house.

Beautiful Floor
My sister has had a Pergo floor in her basement for years in an area that has a tremendous amount of traffic and it always looks great, so I decided to purchased the Pergo Java Scraped Oak floor for a powder room in my own house. My husband installed it with ease all by himself in several hours! According to my husband the instructions were quite complicated but watching a u-tube video was much easier to follow. It looks beautiful! We have a real wood floor in our kitchen which I love and since you shouldn't put a wood floor in a bathroom I decided for the price to give this a try, since I'm not a fan of tile. This is laminate flooring but it does in fact look like wood once you install it! I personally love the dark color I chose however there are many beautiful color's to pick from. I actually had a hard time choosing a color! We put this floor directly on a concrete slab with no issues. It instantly brought beauty and warmth to the room! We love this flooring so much we are going to use it in our foyer!

Looks Great - with a side note about install
The floor looks amazing, but it didn't get there without a minor breakdown!!
I was tired after renovating the entire room. I painstakingly leveled my horrid wooden subfloor and finally lay the first row. Then the second row. Only, when I fastened the last piece in the row, the first would come undone. Half way through the third row, I lay on my level, dirty subfloor and cried about it...and watched some videos. Then I dusted myself off, took the floor apart and started over.
CLICK AND LOCK IS A MYTH! Out of the entire floor, I only had one piece actually lock in place with no effort. It was like seeing a magnificent unicorn...the rest of the floor I used the "line it up, then pound it until it locks" method. I used a block of wood and a mallet, and carefully avoided damaging the locking tongues.
It looks beautiful. Especially after I mopped my salty tears off.

Textured with a real wood feel! Very durable and beautiful!
We bought the new Java Scraped Oak for our entire house and installing it in one room at a time for now. This product is amazing! At first we planned on going with strand bamboo but the company we were going through had terrible reviews so we decided to go back to Home Depot and try this one out. We had been for a long time, under the misconception that engineered wood flooring or laminate would have a hollow feel to it, and I can assure you, with this flooring, that is NOT the case. The flooring is warm with a soft texture and solid. I love the fact if already has foam attached so we didn't have to buy that separately. It went in fairly smoothly and by the time we were done with the master bedroom, we were installation pro's. Cuts well with a sharp blade compound miter saw, minimal chipping on the cut edges. Recommend using a soft cloth under the pull bar installing tool if you use one. We even went as far to use a cloth and a soft fabric stick on so it wouldn't scratch the floor when we were hammering it into place. Overall, amazing product! Can't wait to finish the rest of the house!

I loved the look of the floor and ordered 41 boxes for my concrete floor installation. I followed the installation guide (including all the pre-install floor preparations) without exception. I have installed all types of flooring in the past including ceramic, LVT planks, and 3/4 inch solid hardwood. To make a long story short the PERGO product received was terrible and poor quality. The locking tongue and groove "click together" installation did not work. The boards continued to come apart once they were supposedly locked together. I opened 4 boxes and of the 32 total planks five were noticeably warped. Both the tongue side and grooved edges were brittle, non uniform, and appeared to be nothing more than compressed cardboard. I have no idea why they refused to stay together. The bright spot was that HOME DEPOT was fantastic with the return process and customer service. It was however a pain to transport it back to the local store for return since it was delivered freight.

Installed almost 1400 sq. ft. of this in my home. This stuff is almost INDESTRUCTIBLE. My young kids have dragged toys across it, spilled drinks, had accidents, etc. and it wipes right clean. This particular finish is an elegant dark shade. I was hesitant about laminate looking fake but this has dips and raised bumps that simulate wood grain, and it made our older home look more modern and sleek.
Installation was good overall. I loved that these have the underlayment attached to the planks so there's no need to purchase and install that separately. Sometimes if I tapped the block too hard while installing a plank the tongue or groove would get kinda busted up, so you have to take care with that. Overall I would definitely recommend this stuff.

I really like this product but there is one huge downfall if you have dogs. It is SOOO extremely loud when they walk. We keep their nails trimmed but wow. Compared to the bamboo floor that's still in our living room it is night and day. I would really reconsider if you have dogs and plan on putting it somewhere where you sleep. It's hard to believe that they say the 2'mm of underlayment is to reduce sound. Couldn't imagine what it would sound like without it.

Really nice planks, hard to install
I really like the color and style of the plank. A few were chipped but were used else where, so not too big of a deal. The only big deal is that they did not install as easy as you see in the videos. Every row of planks had to be pounded in, but I guess the tight fit helps keep spills from initially seeping through. The way I installed them was doing one row at a time, leaving out the last piece for cutting/adjustments. Takes a bit of coordinating the pounding, but doing the outside pieces first made it easier to hold the row in place. Once in place, just pound the down the row. As it's being pounded, the tongue and groove will start to engage and the planks will self level itself once completely engaged. Just measure and cut the last piece and move it as close as possible to the last plank edge. Pound it in to level, then pound it into the row using a pull bar. Using a good tapping block, mallet and pull bar helps.
