Montagna Rockwood has glaze chipping issues
Loved the look, but the glazed surface chipped badly when being cut. In order to verify if it was a tile quality issue or a tile cutter issue, we did a test. We tried to cut this tile with two different brands of new saw blades and still got a lot chipped glaze, we adjusted the tile saw alignment and still saw tons of chipped tile glaze.
Finally, it occurred that the tile might be the issue, so we grabbed another brand of tile and the very same tile saw, blade and set up cut a perfectly smooth edge. For the price per square foot, this product should be much more high quality. It is not. There are many alternatives for even lower prices per square foot. Try buying three colors / styles that you like and cut them or have them cut.
This simple test will help you to determine, in advance, whether or not your tile job will turn out well or not. Better to know this up front before you buy thousands of dollars of tile only to be stuck returning something that heavy to the store.
Mu suggestion to tile makers and tile retailers would be that if you are having issues with glaze chipping, then at the very least, try to tint the ceramic or porcelain underneath to more closely match the surface glaze. That would help to hide the chipping issue if you cannot improve the issues with glaze chipping. You'd see fewer returns this way. That is better for the tile maker, retailer, installer and home owner.
The best news is that since Montagna Rockwood chipped so badly, I bought a different band that cost about 60% less. Since I am tiling about 1500 square feet, this will save about $2,500.00!

We had exactly the same experience as reviewer JohnT. The tile is gorgeous, however, the finishes are drastically different and while installing it's almost impossible to see. Once it's in and the light shines on it from an angle the matte vs glossy tile difference is unmistakable. We have a lot of home reno still to be completed and this experience will not be forgotten. We will no longer be making any major home reno purchases through HD, especially ordering online. No excuse for such poor quality control. We contacted our local HD and were told our situation was being "expedited." So far that has meant NOTHING almost a week later. Meanwhile I am looking at a screwed up expensive tile job with an excellent contractor who is just as dumbfounded as we are. Very, very disappointing.

My wife and I choose to install this tile on the lower level of our home, about 1000 square feet....
My wife and I choose to install this tile on the lower level of our home, about 1000 square feet. We have 3 very large dogs, and we wanted the hardwood look, but needed the durability and liquid resistance of tile. Once the tile was installed it really is stunning. It looks great in most lighting, having a brown tint in warm white light. It really changed the way our whole house looked.
After our installer had finished installing the tile, we noticed that some tiles seemed to have a different finish on them. Most tiles that we purchased had a matte finish, while others had a semi-gloss finish that shows up like a sore thumb in the wrong light. Our installer had to come back and take out the semi-gloss tiles, and replace them, costing him and myself, hundreds of dollars in labor and new materials. The difference in finish is almost impossible to see when you are looking straight on with two tiles. You have to turn the tile to see how the light bounces off the surface. Our installer said that he has never seen something like this; there was an expectation at install that the color between dye-lots would change, but such a drastic change in finish was not expected.
One reviewer mentioned they were upset that Home Depot stopped making these tiles available in stores. In response to that, I wish Home Depot had removed this product from every store. If the manufacturing process for the tile has such large differentiation in product uniformity, then only stock samples in store, OR at the very minimum provide the dye-lot number for each pallet, and make it apparent. I believe that if we had not purchased these tiles from the store and had them shipped direct to us, they would have most likely been from the same dye-lot, and therefore would have better uniformity.
Even with all of the problems with the tile finish, the floor still looks and performs great. I would recommend it with the following condition:
If you order this tile, make sure that you are able to get the same or very close dye-lot for all of your tiles.

Just got a 1000 sqft basement installed with this material. You have to use 3/16 grout joint because this material bows due to length. This material looks great in store but make sure you purchase a sample and clean it with a damp sponge because once clean the tile a a tad darker than in store or right when you get a sample from factory. Don't get grout stain blocker, installers said it was useless. Also don't get the pre mixed grout as it is more expensive and not as good as sanded grout. Get carry in service for delivery. Home Depot overestimate pretty much everything so be prepared to return stuff back to store. Installers were great. Overall very happy with material and service

We put this tile throughout our entire house (~1600 sq ft) and we LOVE IT. We've received multiple compliments on it and it goes well with each room (have many different colored walls throughout the house). We haven't had the same issues as other people have described with the appearance looking different per box of tile. Our tile looks uniform in finish and gorgeous overall. I would definitely choose this tile again if we ever sell our home. It's beautiful.

The product is pretty normal, it’s just tile. The HUGE issue I have with all this process is the fact that this product is no longer available in most of your stores, it has to be ordered online and it takes too long to get here, and once it arrived it was a completely different color.
