Love it! My kitchen counter and back wall have a textured, laminate surface -- supposed to look like granite or something. The tiles stick perfectly to it. After you rub it with the smoother, the textured surface can be seen slightly inside the tile but I don't think it affects the look even one bit. I absolutely love it. I'd say it looks like real tile maybe 75%. People say they love it and then they always touch it...so I think they are not positive if it's real, if you know what I mean. It's a 200% improvement over what I had, so it's a choice. If you can tell it's not ceramic tile, who cares if it looks great.
Easy to put up...it lifts up easily so you can re-position it until you are satisfied, and run a smoother across it. (like a credit card or plastic pan scraper) Cut carefully with a sharp blade. I found it was better to have it a sixteenth inch too big and trim with a sharp scissors if necessary...and I always measured carefully. I did it alone and it took about 8-9 hours for my small kitchen.

Purchased these to install onto a fireplace surround. We were going to do real tile and had actually purchased them already but then found these. Pricing is similar to what you would pay for regular tile but that is where your costs end. There is a learning curve to installation and you MUST take your time to properly line things up otherwise this will get unaligned. Go to their website to see instructions on installation. https://www.thesmarttiles.com/ We used a regular utility knife to cut and it was pretty easy to cute. I had a mat that I used to cut fabric on for sewing projects that came in VERY handy b/c it has measurements on it and used a 3 foot wooden ruler. It took about 3 hours from start to finish to install over entire fireplace surround. It doesn't feel like real tile but once installed it looks great.

These look great in my kitchen, but the directions were grossly insufficient. I wasted at least one 12-pack, possibly 2, trying to figure things out. Here are my pointers:
1. Have a good pair of scissors AND a utility knife handy
2. When you start tiling, you will have to cut an edge to start. Always cut the left side of the tile. The right side has extra "grout." You want to put a new tile on top of the prior tile, so you need to cut the left side of the tile to start and put a new tile to the right. If you accidentally cut the right side to start, you will have to place a new tile UNDERNEATH the prior tile, which is not easy.
3. Don't press the tile down until you are absolutely certain it does not need to be readjusted. Pressing it down and then pulling it off will pull off paint and ruin the tile (because it will have paint stuck to it).
4. Don't try to make a perfect cut-out for an outlet. Unscrew the cover, make a smaller cut-out, and let a bit of tile go under the cover.
5. Don't turn the tiles upside-down. The pattern will look weird.
In sum these are not so cost effective if you waste 12+, but they do look good. Also, I recommend using the silver SmartEdge if you will have an exposed edge. I couldn't find those on the Home Depot website, so I ordered from elsewhere.

Easy to apply. Make sure you get all the air bubbles out or they keep popping up. I am dealing with 3 places. I thought it was pricey for the actual product, but it does make a difference in the look. I would recommend.

These tiles were not too difficult to install as long as you follow the directions given and watch the videos from the manufacturer's website. If you properly prepare the wall surface and take your time, the results are spectacular. Most people that have seen the new backsplash can't believe these are peel and stick tiles as they thought they looked like real tiles. Even a professional contractor told us "it looks like real tiles and grout." We are extremely happy with this product and would highly recommend it. These tiles gave our kitchen an exciting new look and feel.
