The Kirb-Perfect shower curb is a stay-in-place plastic form for building perfect shower curbs. Kirb-Perfect is designed to be used with the pan liner of your choice. It can be used with or without a 2x4 wood curb. With molded in dovetail connecting lugs, this curb can be used for multiple length installations. Each piece of the Kirb-Perfect Shower Curb is easily cut with a hacksaw, PVC cutters or angle grinder. Supplied with two (1 1/4 in. length) and eight (3/4 in. length) stainless steel shelf tapping screws and illustrated installation instructions. Kirb-Perfect is 4 9/16 in. wide x 30 in. long and 5 1/2 in. height.

I ordered this online to pickup in the store. When I got it home and opened it, it looked like it was a returned item, not in its original package and the screws that were supposed to be included were not.

Needs a lot of improvement/re-engineeringThis product needs some significant improvement. It doesn't have nearly enough connection points and the result is ridiculously flimsy. The two vertical pieces are screwed together in only two places and the top piece has three places on either side to attach to the vertical sides. Once you cut the pieces down to the size you need, you aren't left with much to hold it together! I ended up using pieces of hay string (which, when frayed, have strong fibers that are like strong thread) to tie everything together so I could place them with more confidence. The video says that if the curbs seem to wobble, don't worry about it. Um. YES, I would worry about it. It's pretty important to have the sides vertical and the top horizontal and it's really hard to maintain that on one piece if it wobbles out of place again while working on another piece of curb! I probably could have rigged something myself using scraps of materials.

Rated Average because you had to buy 2 kits to...Rated Average because you had to buy 2 kits to do a 36" shower - who only does 30" showers anymore. It made the kirb wider than just doing regular 2x4 water proofed making the grout at the top corners (where top and sides met) wider.Was not able to connect the 2 sets together and should have been able to - the interlocking connections were not made correctlyWould not recommend to any one.

Does ok if you are handyThe concept is an excellent idea, the product needs a little work. It was really expensive and it required 2 kits to make it long enough. 30" is not enough for any curbed shower that I can think of. The two kits are suppossed to be able to be attached together, kind of like a puzzle piece. The problem was they didn't fit into each other. I had to shave down the inside piece, all four of them, to be able to get it to work. It also says that there are arrows on top to point to which side is in the shower so that the curb is slanted down to the shower for runoff. This is kind of a moot point though as you have to cut the inside down anyway after the prepitch and then level it out anyway when you pack it with mortar and do the second mortar bed. It was a selling point for me but didn't help at all. you could really have it face either direction and have to fiddle with it just as much to get it right. Other than that, it looks really good, is nice and square and solid once I got the mortar packed in their. It is a little bit more difficult than the video shows you as you have to pack each one of those little rectangles on all three sides with mortar. THe video appeared to have mortar that was too thin for proper mortar mixture.

The Kirby perfect cage is only 30" long. Almost no shower entry is only 30" wide. Therefore, you have to have 2 kits, but nowhere does it warn you about this. So while I believe that the kit will work, it has cost me a few days waiting for the second kit to arrive. If we are going to continue to call this Kirb PERFECT, then we should make the length either 48" (long enough for my shower) or 60" (long enough for most square showers).
