Let the video decide for you.
Watch the video and you will see why this is a bad idea. First, you MUST get the squares absolutely perfect each and every time or by the end it will look "off." You can see in the video when she attaches the final corner that she's off just a hair and it looks cheap. Also if you don't get them tight and flush against each other they look off. You can see in the video the tiny lines where they aren't fitting together perfectly - again very cheap looking. The reason for this is because of the texture of the wall. Rare these days is a wall completely flat and smooth, most walls in houses have some kind of texture. If your drywall has any texture on it at all they will have a hard time sticking and i would definitely not sand and ruin your wall for this cheap stuff. This is not for a massive project. Probably best used as a border or for that weird small space where you would like something on the wall. Basically this is for someone who has no money to spend and no one around to help do it right with tile.

Up now for 6 weeks-all is good!
I received my 6 boxes in mid March; thanks to my husband's insistance read the installation directions. If I had not read, I would of installed the day I received but it said to leave them in the room to be installed for 24 hours before installing. Did so and it came out so beautiful and only cost us $60. I would recommend these to any body and we both are in our late 60's and this took us just under 5 hours!

Great way to revitalize a room
This is my third time around with these tiles. I love them because they are easy to use and Home Depot's price is less than anywhere else. I have a mid 70'd kitchen that is not updated, so I have no choice but to like the retro look. My back splash is an odd size so I cut and fit the tiles, but I'm not that crafty. I ordered another box so I could fix my boo boos. I never thought of liquid nails. I use 2 sided tape when some of the tiles fall off. My back splash is against an outside wall, so right now they ARE falling off. Sometimes it takes 2 times to get them to stick, but eventually they stay put. This is an inexpensive way to renew the kitchen. I bought new switch and light covers and stick on lights for under the cabinets too, so it's a nice change. The colors in the photo are not right. I used the beige and green tiles and the counter is avocado.

used extra contact cement just to be sure
also had problems with them falling off after several weeks. So I used contact cement to give it a little more grip a presto, no more porblems falling off. Just don't count on them sticking well without extra glue!

proper installation is a must
These tiles are great. Out of all these negative reviews I see one common denominator - the consumer did not allow the tiles to acclimate to their home for 24 or more hours. Follow the directions, they are there for a reason. Done properly, on a well prepared surface, these tiles are wonderful.

Let down
I was so excited when these came in the mail. I went right to work putting them up which was super easy. I was able to easily trim where I needed to and once I was done it looked really nice. The next morning I walked downstairs to my kitchen and my heart sank. Half of the tiles were on my counter. I stuck them back up and hoped it was a one time deal. No luck. Every day I was having to put them back up. I was trying to use these as a backsplash but after about a week I took them down. When I did there were only about a handful that even had evidence that they had been hung on my wall. I bought these because I knew the home we own now would eventually be sold and I wanted something removable in case the new owners wanted something different it would be able to easily remove them. But I didn't think they would be THAT easy to remove. (I have since used the Smart Tiles which are stick on as well and they work great. No problems with them coming off like these.) If your willing to use liquid nails on your wall these would be fine. Home depot said they would return them for me. I haven't made it back into the store but their customer service has been awesome so I don't expect a problem!

Great! Heat & water resistant
I read a lot of the reviews and was a little concerned. A lot of users had complaints, so I also read the full instructions. Here's a few common mistakes. Don't apply within 3 weeks of painting. Make sure the surface is clean and dry. They will have trouble adhering to heavily textured or uneven surfaces, try to smooth the area or fill it in first. Watch the video for the easiest way to score or cut the tiles. I have purchased these for a 2nd time now, and have had no problems, except in an area that was uneven and had a high gloss paint underneath. My kids are rough on walls, so anywhere I was concerned about I reinforced with a small amount of liquid nail but with 4 boxes of 2 different styles I've had no problems and they look beautiful.

Poorly printed
I don't regret putting these up in my kitchen, but only because they were so cheap. The printing quality control is pretty bad. Almost none of the printed patterns were centered properly. I had dozens of tiles I just couldn't use. Also, if the wall is not perfectly flat they will fall off. I'm buying glue today to replace 40 percent of the job, which have bubbled up or fallen off.
